Regex 101-05: Anchors

The next stop in our regex adventures is anchors! Anchors are zero width assertions that start with ^ denoting the start of a string or the $ symbol which denotes the end of string.

For Example

  • ^CAT matches CAT CAT CAT

  • CAT$ matches CAT CAT CAT
